2020 A Grade Update - Part 1
As with our Premier Team the A Grade team have also seen a number of changes including Tommy Hill and Max Zobel transferring across from the Jokers IHC. Chris Lee, Lukas Mojzisek, Lada Pekarek and Thomas Williams were promoted from last years B Grade side and after a mandatory 3-game B grade trial our 2020 Bantam pick James Williams was also granted permission to play in the sides top non-checking team when selected.
Our main our for 2020 James Cunningham will be missed along with Prem graduates Kieran McCaw, Mark Godfrey, Nick Pedder although all three are able to use the new IHSA rule allowing them to play both Premier and A grade in the same week (up to 6 back to back weekends).
Similar to the clubs top team, The A's sit tied for third how ever they're not quite in the same position. It would take a string of upsets against the undefeated Tigers and a strong Blackhawks outfit to put them in a position to claim a finals birth. Not to say that there aren't positives that can be gained out of the season. A third place finish would be an improvement on the last two seasons and to see player development from our young players Jolyon Oakey, Chris Campbell and James Williams.
Leading the team in both goals and points is Chris Lee with 4 goals and 5 points. Mitchell Villani across two A grade games also shares the team lead in points, although is now a main stay in our Premier side. Jared Lowe and Lukas Mojzisek follow closesly behind on 4 points a piece.
